The Carolina-style Dog
If a hot dog or burger is "Carolina-style," that means it's going to have mustard, chili, coleslaw, and sometimes onions. A Carolina-style dog is exactly that. I don't have much more to say.
Five things I know about the Carolinas off the top of my head right now:
- funky red slaw and yellow bbq sauce (but the yellow sauce is racist?)
- bathroom bill ground zero
- dollar signs is from charlotte
- Gullah culture (super cool)
- red rice and perloo

HOW-TO
- Heat a pot or pan over medium heat and add oil.
- Add the beef and onions. Let fry until the meat and onions are both browned. Break it up in tiny pieces.
- Add the garlic, then season to taste with seasoned salt and black pepper.
- Mix in the sugar and spices, then pour in the water. Bring to a simmer and stir in all of the remaining ingredients.
- Let everything cook down. You want the sauce to be nice and thick, not too runny. Give it a taste and adjust the seasoning before you serve it.

HOW-TO
- Cook up your dog how you like it. I just brown it in a pan.
- Warm up your bun how you like (toaster oven works great), and get the chili nice and hot, too.
- Lay your cooked dog in the bun, then squirt mustard down the length of it.
- Top the dog with the minced onion, chili, and slaw (in that order).
